Pies and Pints Recap – punk accordian

Jan 25, 2010

Brought the recording gear down to Pies and Pints last night. Tom informed me that some great players were in town from San Francisco. After the full morning recording with Creeping Time, I was a little reluctant to drag the gear down. But opportunity doesn’t knock every day, does it?

Tom and Kris, from Ockhams Razor, started out the night with a number of tunes. Eventually joined by Cullan’s Hound’s Renee De La Prade, things transitioned into an “Accordian Babes” jam, with some accordian duos. Lots of variety in the set. My personal favorite was Renee’s Cajun/Zydeco/Swamp tunes – full accordian, full french.

Johnny, Pat Ferris, Tom and I finished out the night with some fast picking bluegrass. I think I may have neglected to record our set. Though, at the end of a long night, sometimes that’s not the worst thing to forget ;)
